MODERNIZATION OF PAYMENTS AND EXPANSION OF THE WILD FRONTIER–NEW UPDATE FROM UWA

Uganda Rwanda Safaris, Uganda & Rwanda Safari Packages

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is pleased to announce the launch of the modernization of payments and expansion of the wild frontier, designed to elevate the Ugandan safari circuit.

  1. The New On-Site Banking Unit

To resolve payment bottlenecks and streamline permit issuance, a dedicated in-plant machine has been introduced at the UWA Headquarters Reservations Office. This unit centralizes all financial transactions for faster UWA service.

Service Hours:

  • Weekdays: 08:30 AM – 04:30 PM
  • Saturdays: 09:00 AM – 01:00 PM

Always allow a 24-hour window for your payments to reflect, and after our confirmation of funds in the bank, file processing will commence immediately.

  1. New Gorilla Families in the Booking System

We are excited to grow our primate inventory with the addition of two habituated families, offering more authentic encounters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: these new groups are the Happy Group (Buhoma Sector) and the Nshanjare Group (Rushaga Sector).

Operational Change in Booking: With the addition of these groups into the formal booking system, UWA will no longer issue extra gorilla tracking permits. We urge all partners to utilize the live booking system to monitor real-time availability and secure slots in a timely manner.

  1. Booking for the African Golden Cat Tracking

Booking for golden cat tracking, a new tracking experience exclusively done in Kanyanchu in Kibale National Park along the Ngogo Road, will be done on the ground since it is not yet integrated in the system. All books must be done within 24 – 48 hours before the tracking time.

This golden cat tracking experience allows travelers to dive into the habitat of one of Africa’s most elusive felines.

The cost for this 5-days tracking experience is $350 per person.

While tour operators provide the primary guide, UWA will provide specialized rangers for expert tracking and support.

All the improvements are aimed at easing the booking of a Uganda safari and promoting conservation tourism. Do not hesitate to call for inquiries or to book your amazing trip.
