4 Days Gorilla Tour Uganda Bwindi & Rwanda Volcanoes – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver guide from your lodge/hotel and immediately embark on transfer drive from Kampala city to Bwindi National park one of the natural blessed national park with fascinating landscape and rare fauna and flora.

You will have stopover at the Equator for photo shooting, astounding water experiment and visit to African craft shops.

After wards you will get back on your vehicle and continue with the drive to Bwindi while having your lunch en-route.

After arriving in Bwindi proceed to check in at your respective lodge for dinner and overnight depending on which gorilla group you are going to trek.

Accommodation: Chameleon Hill Lodge (Luxury/Upmarket), Gorilla Mist Camp (Mid-range/Standard) or Broad bill Forest Camp (Budget/Basic).

Day 2: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

13 Days Rwanda Safaris - Uganda Gorilla wildlife safariYou will wake up very early in the morning; take an exuberant breakfast to give you the energy needed to hike the hills in the slippery trails of Bwindi forest when searching for the rare mountain gorillas.

After breakfast you will proceed with your packed lunch to the park’s headquarters for early morning briefing at 8:00am about the code conduct when trekking the gorillas.

Afterwards you will be led by ranger guide to trek the gorillas in the thick creepers and undergrowth Afro monotone vegetation of Bwindi and this will take you between 2 – 8 hours depending on the movement of the mountain gorillas.

Once up close to the group, a memorable, magical one hour is given to you to be with these gentle giants. You can decide to sit in the forest among the Gorillas, listen to them grumble to each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male-the Silver-back.

The steeply forested landscape of Bwindi is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists.

It is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. When the one hour is done, you will make U turn back to where you started the trek from and embark on the journey to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park driving along the fascinating Kigezi Highlands and the Virunga Massif. Arrive in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park & Cross to Lake Bunyonyi For Overnight

10 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari Uganda Wildlife Safaris TourAfter your early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters at Kinigi for Briefing at 8:00am by park rangers about the rules and regulations to follow while trekking and spending time with the mountain gorillas.

After the briefing, you will be driven to the trail head for the start of your amazing Gorilla Tracking adventure in the precious Volcanoes national park.

Porters may be hired for the trek to help you carry your backpack and gear. Your memorable Gorilla trekking experience begins from the cultivated foothills of the Virunga’s offering stirring views in all directions and the trails will lead you to the mysterious intimacy of the rain forest, alive with the unique colorful bird species which offer free entertainment to trekkers moving in the forest, during the trek you have chances of hearing the chattering golden monkeys as well as enjoying the views of elusive buffalo and elephant roaming in the forest.

Upon sighting the gorillas, you will stay with them for one memorable magical hour as they go about their daily life of feeding, playing, resting, raising their young.

Coming face to face encounter with a giant silver-back will be truly your greatest wildlife experiences on earth. During this one hour you will be allowed to take a many photo as you can.

Immediately the one hour is over, you will make U turn journey to the park head Quarters and embark on the drive to Uganda.

The drive to Uganda will see you pass through the magical Virunga Mountains after crossing you will join the fascinating Kigezi highlands with remarkable scenery.

Continue to Lake Bunyonyi dubbed the lake a thousand islands arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer Back to Kampala

After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kampala with a stop at Igongo traditional Center for lunch. The journey is 437km about 7 – 8 hours’ drive. You will arrive in the late afternoon to mark the end of the safari.
