4 Days Safari in Uganda – Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive Transfer From Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (drive distance of 527kms)
On the first day, you will meet and greet our driver guide who will be with you for the rest of your four days safari in Uganda.
After your early morning breakfast in your Kampala lodge or home, you will embark on a drive transfer from Kampala to Bwindi.
You will drive in the southwestern direction from Kampala city. The interesting 9-10 hours journey takes you through a unique scenic view of the Ugandan countryside.
After covering a drive distance of 77 kilometers, you will have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe for splendid water experiments, photo shoots, and a visit to the African craft shops.
After the perfect stopover, you will continue with your drive through the urban town of Masaka, enjoying the views of the farmed lands found along the Masaka-Mbarara route.
You will have your Lunch stopover at Igongo Cultural Center which is situated along the way from Masaka to Mbarara just 12 kilometers to Mbarara town the biggest town in the western region.
After enjoying your Ugandan traditional Lunch prepared in Igongo, you will embark on your journey driving through Mbarara town and you proceed through some of Uganda’s beautiful countryside decorated with tea plantations, farmed lands, and stunning hills with ever-green vegetation to Bwindi.
You will arrive late in the evening and drive directly to your lodge to check in, relax from the long hours of traveling, prepare for the next morning’s hectic but highly rewarding mountain gorilla trekking, and also have dinner as well as overnight.

Day 2: Do Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park (2 – 8 hours trek)
After your early morning ebullient breakfast that will give you the energy to hike the hills when searching for mountain gorillas, you will proceed to the park headquarters for briefing at exactly 8:00 a.m. Ugandan local time.
After the briefing from the ranger guides, you will be driven to the head trails where gorilla trekking activities start.
From here you will be led by armed ranger guides into the forest to begin the trek of 2-8 hours through this majestic and mysterious Impenetrable forest.
Gorilla tracking as an adventure in Bwindi needs you to be physically fit since it involves serious climbing and hiking in the dense hills and slippery forest of Bwindi.
The most interesting moment is when you encounter the mountain gorillas moving in their social groups. At this time all the fear you had about the gorillas is washed away as they will receive you with calm smiling faces showing that they have no problem with human beings.
You will be given one magical hour to stay with gorillas viewing them as they go about their daily activities, in one hour, you can also take as many photos as possible and ask different questions to the experienced guides.
After one hour of interaction, you will make the return journey to the park headquarters where you be driven back to your lodge for relaxation and preparing for an evening community walk.
In the evening, you will visit the nearby Batwa community for a refreshment cultural encounter. Here you will be guided by a local guide who will take you to the different communities to see how people have managed to survive through farming.
You will see how local brew is processed from fresh Bananas and forest remedies to get beer and Waragi. After that interesting cultural encounter, you will drive back to your respective lodge for memory sharing in the lodge’s refreshment Center, dinner, and eventually overnight.

Day 3: Drive Transfer From Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park
Immediately after your early morning breakfast in your Bwindi lodge, you will embark on a drive transfer from Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park.
The interesting drive will be highly rewarding because it will take you through the Switzerland of Africa (the beautiful Kigezi Islands) where you will be able to enjoy the views of unique green vegetation, traverse through the hilly areas of southwestern Uganda, by-pass the beautiful, hospitable Ugandans living in the western part of Uganda.
You will make a lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Center 12km past Mbarara after which you will proceed 33km to the park for an afternoon boat cruise.
The boat offers the possibility of encountering different bird species, and hippos, among other stunning features like the lake itself.
After the interesting boat cruise, you will retire back to the park headquarters for a short evening game drive where you will have a chance to enjoy the views of different bird life like Zebras, eland, impalas, bush backs, Burch ell’s Zebras, Topi, and also different bird species. Afterward, you will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Do Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala
You will wake up very early in the morning; take your early morning hefty breakfast and afterward, drive to the park headquarters for an interesting game drive through the Savannah vegetation of Mburo.
During the game drive you have the possibility of encountering a range of wildlife species such as Zebras, eland, impalas, bush backs, Burchell’s Zebras, Topi, and also the six lakes within the park when you do a simple hike to the Kazuma outlook.
The game drive will make you enjoy the sights and views of different bird species African Finfoot, Shoebill, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, and Brown-chested Lapwing among others.
After the game drive, you say the last word of thanks to the park staff and embark on a drive transfer from Lake Mburo to Kampala.
You will have a stopover for Lunch in Masaka and another stopover at the equator where you will have a chance to buy some crafts, take photos, and do a water experiment.
Afterward, you will proceed to Buganda Royal Drum Makers at Mpambire where you will have a short stopover to watch how these drums are made after that, you will get back to the vehicle, and continue with your drive to Kampala. You will arrive in Kampala City late in the evening.
