The 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda is a 3 days Uganda gorilla safari tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Forest, a community walk and beautiful scenery viewing.

The 3 days Uganda gorilla safari tour will take you to the most engrossing encounter with gigantic apes- Mountain gorillas housed in the precious Bwindi Impenetrable forest one of Uganda’s oldest forests in the country.

With the park housing almost half of the world’s total species of mountain gorillas (400 Mountain Gorillas), gorilla trekking safaris form the major safaris mainly enjoyed by tourists on their Uganda safaris to Bwindi. On a daily basis, more than 10 gorilla groups are usually available for tourists to trek.

The highly rewarding six-day great gorilla safari inaugurates and ends in Kampala. The drive to the park is not boring but it takes you through the beautiful scenery of the Kigezi rolling hills, changes in vegetation, rivers and escarpments before reaching the home of mountain gorillas Bwindi.

3 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive Transfer From Kampala-Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (530km about 9 – 10 hours)

After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver guide from your lodge/hotel and immediately embark on a transfer drive from Kampala city to Bwindi National Park one of the natural blessed national parks with fascinating landscapes and rare fauna and flora.

You will have a stopover at the Equator for photo shooting, an astounding water experiment and a visit to African craft shops.

Afterwards, you will get back in your vehicle and continue with the drive to Bwindi while having your lunch en route.

After arriving in Bwindi proceed to check in at your respective lodge for dinner and overnight depending on which gorilla group you are going to trek.

Accommodation: Chameleon Hill Lodge (Luxury/Upmarket), Gorilla Mist Camp (Mid-range/Standard) or Broad bill Forest Camp (Budget/Basic).

Day 2: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (2 – 8 hours trek)

You will wake up very early in the morning; take an exuberant breakfast to give you the energy needed to hike the hills in the slippery trails of Bwindi forest when searching for rare mountain gorillas.

After breakfast, you will proceed with your packed lunch to the park’s headquarters for an early morning briefing at 8:00 a.m. about the code of conduct when trekking the gorillas.

Afterwards, you will be led by a ranger guide to trek the gorillas in the thick creepers and undergrowth afro monotone vegetation of Bwindi and this will take you between 2 – 8 hours depending on the movement of the mountain gorillas.

Once up close to the group, a memorable, magical one hour is given to you to be with these gentle giants. You can decide to sit in the forest among the Gorillas, listen to them grumble to each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male Silverback.

The steeply forested landscape of Bwindi is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists.

It is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. When the one hour is done, you will make U-turn back to where you started the trek and proceed to the lodge for refreshment before embarking on a walk to the nearby community to have a cultural encounter with the Batwa people famously known as pygmies in Uganda.

Day 3: Transfer From Bwindi –Kampala

On your third day, after your breakfast, you will be briefed by your driver guide before embarking on a transfer drive to Kampala.

You will pass through Mbarara town having your lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Centre and also with an optional visit to the museum found in this Centre.

Afterwards, you will get back in your vehicle to proceed to Mpambire where you will have a view of the traditional drums made by the local drummers and also enjoy a drumming session.

You will then arrive in Kampala late in the evening to mark the end of the wonderful short gorilla safari.
